For some reason when you hear about a man beating someone to death, most people conjure up images of a young, fit person committing the act.
This was not the case in a recent beating when 62 year old Las Vegas man, David Magyar, beats roommate to death.
Apparently a call was made to Police Tuesday morning about a person that was possibly dead outside a home in East Las Vegas, near Harmon Ave and Boulder Highway, and the caller gave a description of the person seen leaving the scene.
The person, a male who has not been identified as of yet, was indeed dead. He suffered blunt force trauma to his head.
Police responded to the call and noticed a man fitting the description that the caller described who was acting unusual. He also has blood on his face, according to 8 News Now, a telltale sign that something was amiss.
David Magyar, the suspected senior citizen murderer was arrested.
When you hear about crimes committed by senior citizens, the ones we hear about most often seem to involve a murder suicide. A spouse is ill and the spouse who is not ill decides they can’t live without their partner and the end result is a tragic murder suicide.
A heinous crime, committed by a senior citizen, that comes to mind is the case of a 62 year old woman in Mumbai.
Mangai Bharat Thorat killed her daughter-in law, Neelam Thorat, back in 2008 because the dowry that was paid to them by the daughter-in-law’s family was, in her opinion. simply not enough. She beat and tortured her daughter-in-law, eventually setting her on file. The poor girl suffered burns on over 85% of her body and died.
David Magyar has been charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon and is being held without bail.
