A pregnant Las Vegas woman, Ashley Indico, 26, and her unborn child are dead after being stabbed by her sister-in-law Elinor Indico on Wednesday.

Elinor Indico, 30, has been staying at the home of her brother,  Aris, his late wife Ashley and the couple’s two children since September after she lost her home.

She has a history of drug abuse and violence according to the brother and was asked to leave after she was caught using drugs in their home.

The two women had a shoving match weeks earlier and Aris Indico suspected that his sister might suffer from bipolar disorder, according to Fox 5 Vegas.

Elinor Indico claims self defense in murder of pregnant sister-in-law

Elinor Indico called police and when they arrived at the home on Wednesday, she answered the door.

She claimed that she and her sister-in-law were arguing over money.

She said that Ashley Indico charged at her with a knife and that after a struggle she was able to grab the knife.

She says she acted in self defense.

Ashley Indico’s lifeless body was found in the bathroom of the home.  She had locked herself in the bathroom and police had to kick in the door.

Stephanie Vasquez, a neighbor and friend of the victim, said that her friend’s 5-year-old son knocked on her door. He had blood on him and said his mother was bleeding.

Vasquez that said she tried to get into the apartment but was told to go away.

She says that she heard Elinor Indico screaming followed by what she described as “orgasmic moans”.

The victim was nine months pregnant and due to give birth next week.

Elinor Indico was taken to the hospital for shallow stab wound and booked in absentia.

She has been charged with one count of murder and one charge of voluntary manslaughter.
