One of the more damaging pieces of evidence to emerge was a “crotch shot” photograph taken by another prosecutor that showed Jones’ hand near Willardson’s knee.
Willardson was also reportedly behind the Nevada Judicial Watch, a group that attained popularity among Las Vegas lawyers and judges to share courtroom observations.
It was later believed that she created the group in an attempt to defend Jones and later created yet another group when it was revealed that she was behind the Nevada Judicial Watch.
Willardson wanted her job back and, although she was cleared of any wrongdoing by Nevada State Bar, the Nevada Commission of Judicial Discipline was holding their own hearing.
On the very day of her death, the commission found that Jones committed misconduct when he presided over cases that she was prosecuting.
Although a cause of death has not been disclosed, friends noted that Willardson had been depressed and was taking medication.
Jones, who had previously been suspended from his position, is reportedly devastated.
He was the one who found her lifeless body in the bathroom of her home.
There is speculation that Willardson committed suicide because she despondent.
The official cause of Willardson’s death is expected to be released in a few weeks pending completion of toxicology tests.
