Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss busted for marijuana plants in Pahrump and she wasn’t even taken to jail. She wasn’t even arrested.
An admitted former prostitute who then ran her own prostitution ring, she once bragged that on her slowest nights she made only $10,000 and made her first million after being in business for only 4 months.
She was busted in the early 90s and after serving just under 3 years in jail, she was freed.
She had a string on media appearances, a romance with Tom Sizemore that led to charges that he abused her, as well as a few unsuccessful business ventures, including wanting to open a male brothel.
She eventually settled in Pahrump, Nev., away from the glare of Hollywood.
Fleiss has struggled off and on with drug abuse issues for years and even appeared on Celebrity Rehab. Somewhere along the way, she developed a fondness for parrots.
Ironically, it is her birds that led that led to her preferential treatment after being busted for having nearly 400 marijuana plants in and around her home in Pahrump, Nev.
Even after police found 158 marijuana plants in her backyard and 234 more in the nearby house, unbelievably Fleiss was not arrested.
She claimed she was growing the plants to sell it to a cooperative and readily admitted that she did not have a license, however, because Fleiss was “cooperative” and because she is caring for birds that reportedly are worth more than $200,000, there was no arrest for the former Hollywood madam.
Perhaps, the Pahrump officials are more tolerant of marijuana than the Las Vegas police are.
Las Vegas police would have likely arrested her.
Perhaps Nye county officials are more worried about methamphetamine, which is a tremendous problem in Pahrump, Nev. also known as “Tweaker Town”.
As of now, no charges have even been filed against her, although she may face charges in the future.
