When KE Medical Group abruptly closed their offices, located on Warm Springs Road, on Nov 8., patients of the practice were upset.
Some patients were notified of the closure and others were not.
The abrupt closure of the KE Medical Group office had left patients scrambling for the medical records.
The medical website posted a message to patients,
KE Medical Group Las Vegas closed its door for business as-of November 11th 2013 due to poor economic results and prospects that could not support its continued operation
They also state on their website that patient medical records have been released to certain physicians and go on to say that patient records for other physician’s records at the now shuttered practice, ” may be turned over to them at a later date upon appropriate request and documentation”.
A poster on Yelp wrote,
. . . I was just informed that you came in 2 days ago and fired your entire staff of 50 and also fired all of your doctors without any notice to anyone. You basically kicked everyone out to the curb with nowhere to go. . .
A number of people that have posted claim that the KE MEdical Group was rescheduling appointments in the months leading to the closure and sometimes the doctors did not even show up for scheduled appointments.
Apparently something went awry since dangerous drugs were left inside of the closed practice and were confiscated by state authorities, according to Doug Cooper, executive director of the Nevada State Medical Board.
The board has also taken action to prevent KE group managers from disposing of health records before patients or physicians can take custody of them and the website for the closed practice stated,
Electronic medical records for all patients will be stored with a state-of-the-art electronic storage facilitator in a cloud based environment. The process for obtaining those records will be added to the KE phone greeting and website as soon as they become stored.
