Las Vegas couple shot in front of their home

The Las Vegas couple shot in front of their home have been identified as Kathy and Bill Wilson.

They arrived at their home near Mountain Vista St and Vegas Valley Drive.  It was approximately 4am when neighbors heard gunshots.

Kathy Wilson was in the passenger seat and has since died of her injuries.  Bill Wilson is in Sunrise Hospital and police have not released details about his condition.

A suspect is now in police custody.

Few details have been released as to what could have prompted the shooting which has left neighbors speculation as to what could have been the reason to shoot the couple.

A witness told Fox5 that she heard 3 gunshots.  Another neighbor, Jessica Ramirez.,  said, “I heard two or three gunshots and I looked out my window and I saw a white car there. The driver of the car ran out of the car, he looked like he was hurt (and) he ran to the house.”  Friends described the couple Kathy Wilson as a “beautiful woman with a big smile and big heart“.

The sad news is that the culprit ended up being their very own son, Jeffrey Wilson.  Apparently his parents did feel that their son was a threat to them and they both sadly mistaken.

Many of the Wilson’s neighbors seemed to be in shock that Jeffrey Wilson killed his own mother. Although neighbors knew of “problems”, they never imaged that it would end in murder.

Jeffrey Wilson was reportedly a methamphetamine abuser who had tried to straighten up for a time but, unfortunately, relapsed.

Kathy Wilson always supported her son and is remembered very fondly by her friends and neighbors as someone who was so bubbly and full of life.
