LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas Metro Police have arrested Rickey Massey, Jr. who is suspected of killing his wife Friday at their home in Nellis Air Force Base.
Rickey Massey Jr., 32, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics at the time of his arrest, was arrested at the family home.
He said he had been drinking.
His wife, Theresa Rivera-Massey was killed by blunt force trauma and was Metro’s fourth homicide of 2014.
Massey claimed that his wife hit him and that he choked her.
When he realized she was not moving or breathing and was bleeding, he simply moved her body to the garage, took a sleeping pill and went to bed.
Her body was found in the garage of the family home after her parents contacted authorities because they were concerned when they could not contact her.
The couple had been involved in a domestic dispute just hours before his wife’s body was found.
It appears that the couple was involved in a series of arguments that day.
The couple had only moved into the home on the base earlier in 2013, along with Riviera-Massey’s two children from a prior relationship.
Their relationship has reportedly been volatile and some of their violent arguments were witnessed by the children.
Massey was arrested on an open murder charge and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday for his arraignment.
