Connie McCallister has been located.
The former honors student disappeared on Aug. 15, 2004, when she was only 16-years-old.
The good news is that she is alive and has been located in Mexico.
Her account of her disappearance differs greatly from the police’s version of events and the reason she has provided for not contacting her family does not seem believable.
Some of her family members provide an even different version of events.
In a nutshell, her family claims that McCallister was drugged and taken to Mexico.
McCallister says she was drugged too, however, police say that is not what she told them.
She also claims that her then boyfriend who allegedly drugged her then beat her up and she was hospitalized.
She says that people at the hospital helped her obtain a new identify and she met another man.
She claims the second man also abused her.
After that relationship ended, she met a third man, who she married and now has 3 children with.
She said that she did not contact her family because she doesn’t speak Spanish.
Does her husband speak Spanish? What about guy number two?
Could she not find one person in Mexico to help her place a phone call?
It’s difficult to comprehend that McCallister, reportedly an honors student before she ran away, was unable to find one single person in Mexico to help her make a phone call to her family
Police say that when they spoke to her she said that she said she went to Mexico willingly and did not say anything about being drugged.
They had even heard rumors that was married with kids and living in Mexico.
Then, her family was arranging a benefit to bring her home and mentioned in the flyer that she had been drugged.
The Wausau police contacted McCallister again on Nov. 6, in Mexico and this time she told the officers that in 2004 she left Wausau voluntarily with her then boyfriend and ended up at a party somewhere in the Milwaukee/Chicago area.
She said while she was at the party she thinks someone may have drugged her as the next day she woke up in Mexico.
Police say that she offered no explanation as to why she did not disclose this information several months ago when they Skyped with her.
McCallister remains in Mexico and said she will not return unless her husband and children can accompany her.
