SUNBURY, Penn. — Young Pennsylvania newlyweds, Elytte Barbour, 22, and his wife Miranda Barbour, 18, allegedly killed Troy LaFerrara, 42, on Veteran’s Day, just for the thrill of it.
The couple had recently relocated from South Carolina to Selinsgrove , Penn., along with Miranda Barbour’s 18-month old child from a previous relationship.
Miranda Barbour, was arrested first, after turning herself in.
Initially, she told police that a man she met and had allowed to get into her car (for conversation) tried to touch her in her private areas so she stabbed him.
Her husband talked to the media, just hours after his wife’s arrest, and said his wife acted in self-defense.
And then more information came to light.
Miranda Barbour made her living on craigslist meeting men.
Her husband told The Daily Item that his wife is not a prostitute. He said,
What she does is meet men who have broken marriages or have no one in their lives and she meets with them and has delightful conversation.
Conversations that she reportedly was paid up to $850 for.
The story she told police just didn’t add up.
Elytte Barbour was then arrested and more light was shed on the horrific actions of the killer couple.
They simply wanted to kill and had planned for it.
Elytte Barbous hid in the backseat under a blanket and when his wife gave the signal, he surprised his victim by wrapping a cord around his neck while his new bride stabbed LaFerrara at least 20 times.
They then dumped the body in an alley, cleaned the car and reportedly went to a strip club to mark their three-week anniversary and the murder.
It has also come to light that the father of Miranda Barbour’s child is dead and police are looking into his death.
There is also the possibility that there are other victims of the Pennsylvania newly weds and police are continuing to investigate.
They are both being held without bail.
