LAS VEGAS — An unemployed Las Vegas Chef Richard Magdayo Dahan viciously stabbed his wife to death because she wanted a divorce.
On Friday afternoon, Jan. 10, Dahan, 40, walked into the police command office on West Cheyenne Avenue in the Northwest part of the valley to confess.
He patiently waited for approximately 20 minutes, until his name was called, and told the police employee at the counter what he had done.
Dahan was immediately taken into custody and three officers were dispatched to Camden Vintage Apartments located on the 6500 block of Vegas Drive.
When the officers received no answer at the door they forced their way in and found 28-year-old Daisy Dahan dead.
She had been stabbed to death.
According to Richard Dahan, his wife was sitting at the kitchen table when he first attacked her. He used one knife that got tangled in her hair, hit her in the head with a meat cleaver and stabbed her with a filet knife.
He said he felt he had no other options and if he had to go back in time when he first pulled out the knife that he would have done it again.
The Dahan’s married in the Philippines in 2011 and then relocated to Las Vegas.
They apparently argued over money and over his relationship with his former girlfriend.
The gruesome murder is the first homicide to occur within LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2014,.
Richard Dahan has been charged with open murder and is being held at the CCDC with an arraignment scheduled for Jan. 15.
