A body found might be Jessica Ridgeway from Colorado.
10 year old Jessica Ridgeway disappeared last Friday on her walk to school. Each morning, Jessica Ridgeway would walk approximately 3 blocks from her home to meet up with a group of girls who then would walk to school together
Last Friday, Jessica Ridgeway did not make it to the meeting point nor to school.
Unfortunately some crucial time was lost in the initial stages of the search for her because her mother works an overnight shift, and did not hear the phone ringing when the school called to notify her that her daughter had not arrived at school.
The first few hours of a child’s disappearance are said to be the most important time for finding clues relating to the disappearance of a child.
ABC news reports that the body found is in an Arvada, Colorado park which located only a few miles from where Jessica went missing last Friday.
Jessica Ridgeway’s backpack and water bottle were located a few miles from Jessica’s home the day after she disappeared.
The parents of Jessica Ridgeway, Sarah Ridgeway and Jeremiah Bryant, are estranged and living apart, however both appear to have cooperated fully into the investigation of their daughter’s disappearance and appear completely distraught.
The body found might be Jessica Ridgeway of Colorado. If it’s not, it is still tragic that a body was found.
No official identification has been made yet since the crime scene is being processed.
ABC News says three sources have said that the investigator’s involved in the search for Jessica Ridgeway have reasons to believe that the body found in Arvada, Colorado is the body of Jessica Ridgeway and that the identification will take some time.
Officially had been tight lipped as to what condition the body is in or if it is a male or a female and have now said the body is not “intact” which is delaying the identification process.
According to ABC News,Westminster Police Department spokesman Trevor Materasso said, “It’s not intact” at a news conference today. “This is extending the length of time it’s taking for investigators to positively identify who that body is.”
