Colin Lowrey, a 22-year-old Army Reservist who was on probation for an arrest earlier in the year, was arrested for causing the death of his friend Cherish Noelle Pincombe, 23.
Lowrey contacted police on Oct. 22 to say that he accidentally shot someone in the head at his home located near Sunset and Gibson roads..
Police responded to the call and Pincombe was transported to Sunrise Hospital where she later died of her injuries.
Lowrey admitted to police that he pointed the gun at Pincombe’s head and pulled the trigger, but he did not know that the gun was loaded.
Lowrey’s version of events is that Pincombe and his other roommates fell asleep while he and a roommate drank alcohol and stayed up all night.
In the morning, he claimed the Pincombe joined he and his roommate while they were chatting on the computer on an anonymous chat line when someone he was chatting with asked if he owned a gun.
He then says that retrieved his weapon and assembled it.
He says his roommate then went upstairs and he took apart his gun to clean it.

He then put the unloaded weapon on the desk and went to use the restroom.
When he returned, according to Lowrey, Pincombe asked him to point the gun at her head so he did, and he pulled the trigger.
He says that Pincombe must have loaded the gun when he went to the restroom, a version that the victim’s family thinks is “far-fetched”.
Christina Hall, a friend of the victim has said that her friend was “afraid of guns” and would never have handled the weapon. She also mentioned that “Video Games” might have been involved.
A photo found on myspace that appears to bear a striking similarity to Lowrey, shows the person depicted in the photo wearing an ARMY T-shirt posing with a magazine “Crown of Swords“.
Lowrey is an Army Reservist who has undergone many hours of firearms training including firearms safety which is why he was charged with murder in Pincombe’s death.
Bail has been set for $200,000 with a hearing scheduled Nov, 6 to reduce that amount.
