There was a deadly bus stop crash earlier this morning in Southwest Las Vegas.
The accident occurred just after 6am at the intersection of Decatur Blvd and Spring Mountain Rd and has so far claimed the lives of 4 people.
An additional 8 people that were injured in the deadly bus stop crash have been transported to two different area hospitals, including the driver, and some of the injured reportedly have serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle responsible for the crash, apparently suffered severe injuries injuries including a collapsed lung and a broken back according to reports from the Las Vegas Review Journal
The car that caused the accident was said to be traveling eastbound on the busy Las Vegas intersection at a very fast rate of speed with some initial reports indicating the car was speeding at over 100mph.
The car then apparently hit a dip in the road before the driver apparently lost control.
The car then flew into the air and careened right into the bus stop.
All of the victims are adults and, although the case remains under investigation, it is believed that the driver was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.
The pictures and aerial photos from the scene are horrific.
The entire intersection has been shut down.
Due to the accident investigation and the expected massive cleanup, the intersection will likely remain closed for a number of hours so motorist should avoid the area until it has been reopened.
Fatal bus stop accidents that have caused mass casualties and injuries have been reported both here in the Las Vegas valley as well as other states. What is so unfortunate is that when driver impairment is involved, it is such a needless tragedy that could have prevented.
