Monster mom, Elizabeth Escalona gets 99 years in jail for gluing daughters hands to wall by using superglue.
Escalona has been portrayed as a very unfit mother who brutalized her daughter when she was having problems potty training the toddler.
As a child, Escalona reportedly threatened to kill her mother and has had gang member ties.
Her daughter, Jocelyn Cedillo, was in a coma for two days, suffered bleeding in her brain, a fractured rib, bite marks, and multiple bruises. Some of the skin came off her hands from the area where her skin was glued to the wall.
Her mother, Ofelia Escalona, and sister rallied to her defense asking the judge for leniency.
Ofelia Escalona said that her daughter was abused as a child and she did nothing to stop it yet she is now caring for her daughters five children.
Will she do a better job with the 5 children this time around or will they too be abused and have a family stand by and do nothing?
Prosecutors asked for a sentence of 45 years for Escalona, branding her a “Monster”.
Many people who commented on a number of message boards were pleasantly surprised to hear that Elizabeth Escalona gets 99 years in jail for gluing daughter’s hands to wall
Is the 99 years in jail that Escalona received excessive?
And, will she really be incarcerated for the rest of her life?
We’ve all heard too many stories of convicted murderers, sometimes even people who have killed more than once, who have been sentenced to less time then Escalona and had a chance to regain their freedom.
While the 23-year-old monster mom certainly deserves a stiff sentence for nearly killing her own daughter, 99 years is a very long sentence.
