LAS VEGAS — Eric Goodman, son of Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and former Mayor Oscar Goodman, has returned home to continue his recovery.
Goodman, a Las Vegas Justice of the Peace, was found unconscious in a bathroom at a Summerlin Park in the early afternoon on Dec. 15.
He had allegedly left his home a few hours earlier to go for a jog.
It is unknown why he was in the restroom at the park. Did he go to the restroom simply to relieve himself and fell and hit his head? Was he meeting someone in the restroom? Could he have been dragged into the restroom and attacked?
Based on the nature of his injuries, two gashes on each side of his head, his family does not believe that he fell.
The park, located near Goodman’s home, is billed as a kid friendly park and includes multiple play areas.
Police and Goodman’s family have been very tight-lipped about the circumstances.
What is known is that Goodman suffered a traumatic injury to his head and initially was allegedly unable to communicate with police and his family to tell them what happened.
Since that time he has been able to communicate, however, information regarding the circumstances as to how he has been injured has not been officially released giving the appearance that due to both his and his family’s ties to the political community that the case is being handled with kid gloves and being treated differently than if the case involved a member of the general public or non-political community.
His family contends that the nature of his injuries are consistent with an attack, yet, strangely police will not definitively say that he was attacked and are continuing their investigation.
It seems highly unlikely, although not entirely impossible, that the Mayor’s son had some type of an episode and that the injuries were self-inflicted.
Goodman was at a rehabilitation center and has made enough progress that he was able to continue his recovery at his home.
Goodman’s family said that Eric Goodman is expected to make a full recovery.
