Great news for America – Fiscal cliff 2013 averted.
It’s been an interesting two days in the land of politics.
The end result is great. Congress has voted and the fiscal cliff that threatened to start out the New year 2013, in a bad way, has been avoided.
Those that represent Americans are supposed to be committed to doing what is best for the country and the people.
Over the years, this vision has become very skewed, with egos getting in the way and a shift in tactics by some of our representatives who seem purely interested in protecting the assets of the very wealthy, rather than the average American.
Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, or even an Independent, you have to admit that President Obama’s strategy to avert the fiscal cliff 2013 was brilliant.
Our President, in essence, tied the hands of Republicans and they were left with no choice.
The Senate spent their New Year’s Eve and Day voting.
Had the House of Representatives changed one item, it would not have been approved, the actions would have adversely affected the economy and the Republicans would have been publicly blamed ending any chance of a Republican candidate securing the top Presidential spot for many years to come.
The bill ending up passing with 257 for it and 167 against it.
President Obama publicly thanked Vice president Joe Biden for his role in helping bring both sides together and repeatedly talked about the need for “balance”
Here’s wishing you a great 2013.
