Shauna was found brutally murdered in her Summerlin condominium and friends and family had suspected George Tiaffay might be involved, although they were hoping he was not.
Police began an investigation into the murder of the long time Palms Casino cocktail waitress and soon zeroed in on her husband, George Tiaffay and accomplice Noel Stevens, leading to the arrest of both men.
Noel Stevens was believed to have been a past neighbor of the Tiaffay’s when they were living together and who was found living in a tent at the time of his arrest.
Stevens was allegedly initially paid $600 by George Tiaffay to commit the murder and was reportedly later heard bragging to friends about committing an “m” for $20,000.
George TIaffay was allegedly working at his job as a fire fighter while the murder was committed by Stevens in a likely attempt to provide the firefighter with an alibi.
He apparently has not yet been fired from his job.
Tiaffay reportedly was trying to kill himself by driving his truck at a high rate of speed into a concrete barrier on the freeway shortly before his arrest, which is why his face appears battered in his mug shot photo.
Stevens, perhaps in cahoots with Tiaffay, may also be involved in a prior robbery at Shauna Tiaffay’s home.
