LAS VEGAS — Irma Mkrtchyan has not been seen by friends or family for more than three weeks.

The disappearance of the 45-year-old woman is so out-of-character and troubling that her brother, Davit Mkrtchyan, from New York is now in Las Vegas trying to find out what happened to his sister.

According to her brother, her ex-husband received a text message from his wife’s phone that said that her cell phone was dying and that her charger was at home. She also said that was going away to California on a business trip with a colleague and that she would return home Friday. She also let her ex-husband know where her car was parked.

Another message was allegedly sent to her place of business indicating that she had a family emergency.

Mkrtchyan, a mother of two adult children, lives with her ex-husband. She is employed as a insurance agent at Farmers Insurance and, according to her brother, her phone is her lifeline.

Here are some points to consider,

• It has been reported that Mkrtchyan was last seen Jan.19 in the area of Desert Inn Road and Durango Drive.  Did someone speak to her or see her that day? Was she working? Were GPS coordinates reported?  Although Las Vegas is a 24/7 town, her office hours are listed as Mon. through Fri. from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Was she meeting a customer that Sunday, or did she leave her home for another reason? (Update – the Las Vegas Sun is reporting that Mkrtchyan did indeed meet a client at the Allanza Apartments.)

• Her car was found at the Allanza on the Lakes Apartments, which is located not too far from the area where she reportedly last seen, however, it is certainly not walking distance. Her home is located close to where her car was found so why didn’t she drop her car off at home?

• Why is there no mention of the ex-husband? How come he is not on the local television stations pleading for information about the ex-wife alongside his former brother-in-law?  Were he and Irma Mkrtchyan on friendly terms or living together out of necessity? Was she seeing other men?

• What about her children?  They are both adults.  According to their social profiles, one lives in Las Vegas and the other one works  in a professional capacity at a private college in another state. As of this writing, neither of them have any information about their mother publicly posted to their profiles which seems strange. A friend in Armenia has posted the missing persons poster but no activity from her children.

Her brother seems to be the most concerned about her disappearance and said she has never disappeared before.

As of this moment, authorities have not determined if Irma Mkrtchyan left of her own accord or not.

Irma Mkrtchyan is  a 5-foot-5 Caucasian woman, weighs 120 pounds and has blonde hair and brown eyes.
