Like many other teens who go missing, her family is extremely worried and simply wants to know that she is OK.
Nichols was last seen on October 9, 2012. She was on her way to work and she made a phone call at 11:34 p.m. that evening. She was supposedly going to go to Denver for work and was also seen with two women on the day she disappeared.
As more and more information became public, the girl who was initially portrayed as the all-american sweetheart was not as innocent as she was portrayed. It seems that after this information was publicized, public interest wanted.
Her family either received bad advice about dealing with the press, or perhaps to avoid embarrassment they did not want the true nature of their daughter’s “employment” made public.
Nichols appears to be experienced in working in the adult sex industry. The now 20-year-old has a profile posted on Model Mayhem, a site well-known to attract those in the adult modeling industry. Since her disappearance, her nude, racy photos have since been removed from her profile.
Tight controls were put upon the media about what photos of Nichols could be released. The family- sanctioned photos bore little resemblance to the person that Nichols evolved into.
A Help Us Find Kara Nichols facebook page maintained by the family hasn’t been updated for over two months.
Earlier this year, Nichol’s mother, Julia Nichols, said,
We’ve been told from the beginning they suspect foul play both because of her issues with drugs and the link to prostitution.
Two months after her disappearance, photos and a profile, purportedly belonging to Nichols, surfaced on MyRedBook, which serves as an adult escort site serving cities such as Las Vegas and San Francisco raising the possibility that Nichols was in Las Vegas, Nev., although Nichols was not located.
Her family does not know if their daughter left of her own accord or if she fell victim to the sex trafficking industry.
