In a story that started out sad and ended happily, a Las Vegas couple has wedding ring returned by a stranger.
Sheryl and Bob Smith were vacationing Florida celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary.
While at the beach, Sheryl lost her wedding band. She said that her ring just slipped off and disappeared.
According to My News 3, Sheryl and Bob Smith spent at least an hour searching for the ring that had sunk into the sand on the beach and seemingly disappeared.
A stranger that was nearby, German tourist Markus Weise, suggested that the couple enlist the assistance of a man nearby who had a metal detector. The couple along, with Markus Weise and the stranger with the metal detector, searched for the ring and could not locate it.
Before she left, Sheryl Smith gave Markus a pamphlet from her church. The Liberty Baptist Church of Las Vegas and told him if he was ever in Las Vegas that he could find the couple there.
What happened next is truly heartwarming.
Markus, the German tourist continued to search for the ring.
My News 3 reports that Marcus Weise said it took a couple of hours but he did indeed find the ring.
He did not know how to find the couple. Then he remembered that he had the pamphlet from the church and one of his friends had a photo of the couple so with the little detective work they were able to track them down in Las Vegas.
The Smith’s could not believe that Marcus got in touch with them.
Sheryl Smith said,
I am so thankful that he is honest and loyal to contact our church. You don’t find people like that. I told him, you know this was all God that God used him to find that ring. I feel God is real, he does answer prayers
Sheryl and Bob Smith, the Las Vegas couple has wedding ring returned by a stranger and will drive to Utah to meet Markus to retrieve the ring before Markus returns to Germany.
