Las Vegas strip shooting suspect identified

It took only 2 days for police to identify the Las Vegas strip shooting suspect who is responsible for three murders that occurred Thursday morning.

Ammar Harris, 26, has been identified by police as the prime Las Vegas strip shooting suspect although there were other, as of yet, unidentified, black males in the car when shots rang out. Harris is also known as Ammar Asim Faruq Harris.

The car he was in, a black Range Rover that was new and still had temporary dealership plates, has been located in Las Vegas at an apartment complex east of the Las Vegas Strip

The fatal encounter took place shortly after 4 am Thursday after two groups of people got into an argument in the valet area of the Aria Casino at City Center.  The argument might have started inside the Haze nightclub at Aria where rapper French Montana was playing.

As both parties drove away from the Aria, heading toward the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo Road, it is believed that Harris, who was traveling in the black Range Rover, opened fire on the driver of a silver Maserati, driven by Kenny Cherry, causing him to lose control, careen through a red light and slam into a taxi cab that exploded.

Kenny Cherry died as did the taxi cab driver, Michael Bolden, and taxi cab passenger, Sandi Sutton.

The black Range Rover then sped off.

The Las Vegas Strip was closed nearly all day Thursday while police conducted their investigation.

Kenny Cherry, better known locally as Kenny Clutch, was a wannabe rapper who drove around in a prized leased silver Maserati.  He is also a reportedly well-known Pimp, who rapped about the “thug lifestyle” of drugs, ho’s and weapons in his youtube videos although his father, who held a news conference Saturday, said his son just played a tough guy in his video’s.

Clutch also apparently had a lawyer on retainer, which, the average person does not usually have a need for, and according to columnist John Smith, Clutch

was a stone pimp who beat his women and spent the money they earned turning tricks in Strip casinos. He was fond of weed and narcotic cough syrup and his reflection in a nightclub mirror.

Harris, the Las Vegas strip shooting suspect, is another guy who purportedly makes his living off the earnings of women that he controlled by force.  His arrest record reflects numerous charges including robbery, sexual assault, kidnapping, coercion, pandering and a felon being in possession of a firearm.

Perhaps the two pimps were fighting over turf or a woman in their “stable”.

Unfortunately, this type of clientele, is prevalent at many of the casino nightclubs.  It is because of customers like Clutch and Harris, who throw the “big bucks” around that they have “made” from pandering, that have catapulted many of the Las Vegas nightspots, like Haze, into the extremely profitable revenue generators that they now are.

In this case, the “thug lifestyle”, led to the death of two innocent people.

Las Vegas shooting suspect, Ammar Harris, is actively being sought.  The identities of the other people in the black Range Rover have not been released.
