Long recovery for Las Vegas boy mauled by dogs

Dog attacks can be deadly and a Las Vegas boy mauled by dogs needs your help while he is recovering from a severe dog attack.

Carlos Blakely, just 6 years old, visited California over the holiday’s.  It was supposed to be a very special trip since little Carlos was going to meet his biological father and his paternal grandparents for the very first time.

On December 30th, Carlos and his 9 year-old sister went outside of the home, just for a moment, so Carlos could retrieve a toy when two German Shepherds and a Bullmastiff began attacking him.

The sister ran back into the house to get help and Carols’ grandfather was able to scare off the dogs but, in that short time, Carlos suffered severely.

He had to be airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

His mother, Julieta Campos, described some of Carlos’ injuries to the Antelope Valley Times

They took a piece of his scalp, a piece of his ear, he has lacerations that go from his ear to his mouth, they cut one of the nerves on the corner of his lip, so he can only talk and smile with the left side. He has two bites on his arm that required stitching, he has bite marks that go from his back to his little butt and down his legs, he has a few stitches in the legs, and he has bruises and scratches all over his body.

She also said,

In the future, cosmetic surgery is something that I would have to look at for him, so we are trying to gather up some funds to be able to do that for him. He’s never going to be back to normal, but in order for him to have a chance at looking like a normal person, he would require cosmetic surgery.

Four dogs that were kept in a neighbors pen have been identified by Carlos as the dogs being present in the attack, however one dog did not participate in the attack and may be placed up for adoption.

My name is Carlos Alexander Blakely and this year was a very important year in my life. For the very first time i got to go spend time with my biological father and family and grandparents who i love very much on December 30 2012 while i was visiting my family’s cabin in Lancaster California i was attacked by 4 Vicious dogs.This dogs bit half of my scalp and scarred me for life they bit a piece of my ear off and the right side of my face leaving my face cut open from my ear to my mouth cutting one of the nerves from my mouth now i can only talk with half of my mouth they bit me all over my body legs and arms i now has stitches everywhere the Dr that did my surgery had suggested cosmetic surgery my mommy is a single mother of 4 kids if you find it in your heart to donate to my account so i can have a chance of living a normal life we would all appreciate it God bless everyone.
