missing Las Vegas cab driver presumed dead

Keith Goldberg, the missing Las Vegas cab driver is presumed dead.  Goldberg, 54 was last seen at the end of January.  His ex-girlfriend, Georgene “Cookie” Ross called Lucky Cab, Keith’s employer using Keith’s cell phone and said Keith was sick and wouldn’t be in to work that day. That was the last time Keith’s phone was used.

Goldberg’s car was found at an apartment complex near Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Blvd. on February 10th.  While police searched for for clues as to what happened to Goldberg and his family was wrought with worry, some began to suspect the ex-girlfriend Cookie was involved.

Apparently, Cookie was going with Goldberg for 2 years while she was estranged from her husband, Christoper Ross. The relationship between Goldberg and Ross soured and she apparently reconciled with her husband.  Officers were called to the couple’s apartment multiple times in December and January. Goldberg had moved out of the apartment he shared with Cookie only 4 days before his disappearance and there were rumors at the cab company where he worked, that he was concerned for his safety.  An anonymous coworker said, “He felt unsafe”

The family had hired a private detective who traced his last steps to the same apartment complex. It is not known why he went back to the complex.

Unfortunately, it turns out what family and friends suspected, was true.  In April, Georgene and Christoper Ross were arrested on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Goldberg’s body has still not been found and search teams continue to look for his body in the area of Sunrise Mountain.  The only evidence that Goldberg’s body might be in that area is a cellphone record that places Christopher Ross in the area for six hours around the time of Goldberg’s disappearance. Ross had called in sick from his job at The Fiesta Hotel.

The volunteer group, Red Rock Search and Rescue says that, “It will take a very long time to clear it, and we are determined to clear it all” referring to the area that they have been searching for more than 10 weeks.

Red Rock Search and rescue says they are going to continue to search for Keith until he is found.
