The 21 year old Heichel was reportedly last heard from on Tuesday morning when she kissed her husband goodbye and left for her job at Starbucks, which is only a short 5 minute drive away from the Heichel’s residence.
Her husband, Clint said that he received a call at 8:15 am from his wife’s Supervisor because she did not show up for work. Her husband told KATU.com,
(At) about 8:15 her boss called me and said, ‘Hey, I was just curious, did Whitney decide to be sick or not feeling well? Have you seen her or talked to her?’

Perhaps part of the conversation is missing but the phone call, as reported, seems odd, particularly the last sentence. Perhaps he was only recounting the Supervisor’s part of the call.
ABC News reports that Clint Heichel contacted police shortly before 10 am to report his wife, Whitney missing.
Volunteers were handing out missing persons flyers only hours after her disappearance and they found her Black SUV, at approximately 11am, located in a Wood Village Walmart parking lot. Disturbingly, the passenger side window of the SUV had been shattered.
The SUV is a black 1999 Ford Explorer with tinted taillights and the Oregon license plate 189 EJZ.
More disturbingly are reports that her ATM card has been used twice within a span of 10 minutes.
Her husband tells KATU.com that her ATM card was used at 9:22 am and 9:30 am for gas although police are confirming only one charge.
Authorities have 24 investigators working on the case and are searching an area in the heavily wooded area in Gresham, Oregon where broken glass and tire tracks were found.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the SUV during that time, or to report any information on the disappearance of Whitney Heichel, to call the Gresham Police Department tip line at 503-618-2719.
