Dontai Everidge, 27, a known pimp from Lancaster, Calif. was arrested in Las Vegas on a fugitive warrant.
Everidge has known gang affiliations and was considered armed and extremely dangerous by California authorities.
He has an extensive criminal history including charges for assault with a firearm, robbery, battery, abuse, endangering a child, assault with a deadly weapon, rape, DUI, disregard for safety and evading a peace officer.
Even with all those charges against him, he was on parole.
While on parole he was detained in connection with a prostitution sting conducted in Van Nuys, Calif earlier in the year.
He was being sought because Everidge managed to escape from flex cuffs during the sting operation and he assaulted officers while reaching for an officer’s firearm.
His escape resulted in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charging him with two counts of assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, one count of robbery and one count count of felony resisting arrest.
Police have been fighting what seems to be a never ending battle with drugs and prostitution in Van Nuys, Calif. for many years.
On Thursday, another prostitution sting in Van Nuys, along a popular four mile track of Sepulveda Blvd. from Raymer Street to Ventura Blvd., resulted in 22 arrests that were made in four hours,
The vast majority of arrests were for the solicitation of prostitution. Of the 22 people arrested 9 were men and 13 were female.
Earlier in the month, another California fugitive, Shaun Moore, was arrested in Las Vegas in connection with a deadly shooting in downtown San Jose.
Everidge is being held without bail in Las Vegas and will be extradited back to LA.
