Yes, Las Vegas had made another list, however, surprisingly out of the Top sinful cities in America, according to the Movoto real estate blog, Las Vegas came in at #10 not #1.
The study analyzed 95 of the nation’s 100 most-populous communities. Movoto couldn’t get complete data for Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Indianapolis, Toledo, and Tucson since they don’t report some of this data, to see how often locals commit the seven major sins of Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth and Wrath.
Here’s the top 10;
1. St. Louis, MO
2. Orlando, FL
3. Minneapolis, MN
4. Pittsburgh, PA
5. Milwaukee, WI
6. Cincinnati, OH
7. Miami, FL
8. Buffalo, NY
9. Detroit, MI
10. Las Vegas, NV
According to Movoto, here is how they analyzed each of the seven sins,
As far as Lust, Las Vegas did rank #1 or more specifically, North Las Vegas, NV did, with one strip club for every 2,808 residents.
Las Vegas itself came in second for Lust at one for every 3,406 people.
Interestingly, for Greed, Detroit came in at #1. Greed is measured for the Movato study as the percentage of disposable income each city gives to charity on a yearly basis.
I would have thought that Las Vegas would have ranked very high, since, to me, Las Vegas seems to be such a generous town, however, the top honor in the “Greed” category went to Detroit, Michigan for giving a whopping 11.2 percent to charity.
That is pretty impressive for such a depressed city and for a city that is attempting to claim bankruptcy.
Conversely, the #1 most Saintliest city is, believe or not, New York City.
