Why would someone fake an abduction? The Kara Alongi case back in October was not the first case of someone faking an abduction and it won’t be the last but really why would some take an abduction?
Kara Alongi of New Jersey faked it in a big way. She tweeted that someone was in her home sparking numerous calls from people that saw the tweet.
Turned out the 16 year old was full of it.
Cops knew it and if you listen to her tape, she just sounds stupid.
But you have to ask yourself – why would someone fake an abduction?
Why?
Likely, these people are craving attention.
Somehow they are missing something in their lives, either a lack of parental attention or they simply want to be the next “YouTube” type of sensation.
An ABC News consultant and former FBI agent agreed and said
A number of these cases are driven by people who just clearly want attention.
But what is lacking in their life?
Here’s a theory. Way back when, there were more 2 parent households and parents were more focused on their children.
The baby boomer generation, which I am on the cusp of, came along and the focus was more on themselves. They needed to make a living. A lot of single parent households followed and the generation was focused more on ” me, me, me” and ultimately the kids suffered.
Sure, the single parents had to work and earn a living but ultimately the kids became affected.
The parents, or in many cases parent, were simply too busy trying to make a living and used money as a babysitter.
I am amazed at the number of times I have heard my own friends say, “They are old enough to make their own decisions.”
And then they buy them the latest computer, or a new cell phone to shut them up.
Are they really old enough to make their own decisions all the time? Even when they are only 14?
Many of the kids are extremely technically proficient and sit all alone with their “toyz” socializing so their parents, or parent, do not think they can get into too much trouble.
Think again and pay attention.
They could be hatching up the next mass school shooting or planning their own abduction.
