Andrew Jackman, husband-to-be of Vindalee Smith arrested but not for her murder.
Vindalee Smith was supposed to get married to Andrew Jackman.
Although a number of friends and family did not even really know Andrew Jackman, it appeared that Vindalee Smith was happy and there was no indication that she had any idea that Jackman could not legally marry her because he was already married, though estranged, to someone else.
The devout Seventh Day Adventist was eight months pregnant and was all set to marry Jackman.
The day before her wedding, her landlord found her dead. Both Vindalee and her unborn child did not survive the brutal attack. Vindalee Smith had a gaping wound on her neck It is not known if Jackman was the father of her unborn child.
Strangely a note was found in Vindalee Smith’s home. The note said, “I will kill 1 pregnant woman a month starting now until Lee Boyd Malvo is set free!”
That note referred to one of the Washington snipers who is currently in jail.
It is believed that the letter left was likely a a ruse to deflect suspicion away from the real killer.
Immediately suspicion fell on Andrew Jackman. It seems that Vindalee Smith had no clue, right up to the pending nuptials, that her fiance was married so what else, if anything, is Jackman hiding,
Jackman’s parents live only a few blocks from where Vindalee Smith lived.
Andrew Jackman was arrested last Sunday evening.
NYPD spokesman Paul Browne tells 1010 WINS that Smith’s fiancé, Anthony Jackman, has been charged with possession of a forged instrument for a false temporary registration for a vehicle.
He was questioned regarding Vindalee’s death but had not been charged yet with murder, although he likely remains a person of interest.
Jackman was released the following day.
