Henderson man Gary Gaston stabs ex-girlfriend to death

Henderson man Gary Gaston stabs ex-girlfriend to death and is now in police custody.

Limited information has been released, at this point, and the victims name has not been released until family members are notified of her death.

She as 43 years old.

It appears that Gaston went to his ex-girlfriends home in Henderson, located on Rising Brook Drive.

When officers arrived at the time, Gaston admitted that he stabbed his ex-girlfriend and was arrested.

It is also not known if Gaston called police or if any of the victims neighbors contacted authorities.

His estranged wife was the likely the target and was able to escape from the home with her 3 children.

Also this year, Troy White, shot and killed his estranged wife, Echo Lucas, and wounded her boyfriend Joseph Averman.  White reportedly refused to grant his wife a divorce.

According to the Violence Police Center that analyzed data for 2010, 91% of women killed in the state knew their killers and 51% of the women were the the wives, common-law wives, ex-wives, or girlfriends of the murderers.

Henderson man Gary Gaston has been charged with one count of a first degree murder with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary for stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death.
