Man discovers Indonesian wife used to be a man

After 19 years a Belgian man divorces that his Indonesian wife used to be a man.

He told the Het Nieuwsblad newspaper, “I feel assaulted”.

Jan, 64 married his wife Monica in 1993.

They two had known each other for quite some time because Monica worked for his family in Indonesia as an au pair 20 years ago.

After he had gone through a divorce, the couple got together and he brought her back to Belgium.

Zee News India reports that is was difficult getting Monica into Belgium and Jan is quoted by the Telegraph saying,

I brought her to Belgium. That was not easy. The Belgian courts had serious doubts about the authenticity of her birth and her identity papers, but eventually they accepted it anyway. I thought she was an attractive woman, all woman. She had no male traits.

Apparently, the couple had a normal sex life and Monica even pretended to be menstruating.

He said there life was good and he never had any suspicions until Monica got a job.

Then, according to Jan, she changed.

He claims that she started dressing in very provocative clothing and acting differently.

She supposedly started going out to nightclubs and her husband found messages that she was sending to other men.

Jan says there were even rumors that she was a man.

Or did Jan get jealous that the the woman he married, whom he knew was man, started to become independent?

They are living together in the family, however, there is tension between them and they are not on speaking terms.

So far, the courts are rejecting his attempts to obtain an annulment, because she is a woman.

Jan says he is now receiving psychiatric treatment.
