In recent years, Zurich has come under fire because of the number sex workers they have and prostitution is literally spilling out into the streets so they government wants to add some measures to better organize the trade.
That means changes.
One of the big changes involves designating certain zones for prostitutes and their customers to get together; banning the legal trade in certain main areas, although prostitutes can still solicit clients in cars and on the street in the busy nightlife district.
One of the new areas designated as an authorized “prostitution zone”, will feature the sex booths. Zurich’s drive-in sex booths, better known as “Sex Boxes”, are little structures where a client can park his car and have a discreet rendezvous with a sex worker.
The Sun reports that women working in Zurich’s drive-in sex booth will have to take out medical insurance and pay a license fee.
The thinking behind the fees is that will be regrouped quickly by the sex workers, since they will make more money since they do not have to travel to meet clients; the clients come to them.
Zurich’s drive-in sex booths, the “Sex-boxes”, are slated to make their debut in August of 2013.
