Troy Mullner, known to those looking for him as the Mustached Bandit, has been apprehended after a 3 month long crime spree in Las Vegas
Even without the facial hair that gave him his wanted nickname, 2 eagle eyed officers with the Metro Police department were still able to recognize and capture him. Apparently he had shaved at some point during the robbery spree since he was seen on video without the mustache. At his time of arrest, the mustache was reportedly almost grown back.
According to the LVRJ, Lt. Ron Fox said the widespread media coverage two weeks ago was partially responsible for the mustached bandit’s capture and said, “This solely came down to two sharp cops paying attention to the information we put out there.”
Local business can rest a bit more easy now that Troy Mullner is off the streets. He has been charged with more than a dozen felonies. The robbery spree allegedly took place between April and July of this year. His targets were a strange mix of sandwich shops and electronic stores that were located in the southeast and southwest parts of town. Perhaps he selected those types of business’ because he thought that they would have cash on hand and be an easy target.
Mullner is no stranger to the Las Vegas police. He has a prior criminal record with extensive arrests. His arrest history is related to robberies, burglaries and kidnapping. The rash of recent robberies during what is believed to be a one man 3 month crime wave were fortunately of a non-violent nature. It is estimated that at least 14 robberies can be tied to Mullner and the investigation continues to see if he can be linked to any other similar, unsolved crimes in Las Vegas. All thanks to the attention of 2 super sharp police officers.
