Jonathan Roth, the son of a New York man accused of faking his own death has been arrested arrested.
The 22 year son of Raymond Roth has been suspected of helping his father plan his disappearance.
Jonathan is the one who called 911 to say his father had disappeared.
Evana Roth, the wife of Raymond and stepmother of Jonathan allegedly discovered email communications which she says prove that Jonathan was involved in the plot.
In a story filled with numerous twists, Evana Roth was actually in the midst of planning a funeral for her husband.
He ended up being alive and well and was stopped for speeding in South Carolina.
The elder Roth apparently emptied out his wife’s bank account and information surfaced indicating that he had planning his disappearance for some time.
He tripled his life insurance policy, rewrote his will and put his house up for sale before disappearing.
Roth has been fired from his job, allegedly threatened to shoot his supervisors and had his license handgun taken away by the police.
Evana Roth found a number of emails uncovering communication between father and son and the son even briefly disappeared for a time leading to speculation that he was assisting his father.
Evana Roth has been very outspoken regarding her husband faking his own death and reaffirmed that she had nothing to do with it.
She even said that her husband texted her after his presumed death, telling her to “be nice” and alluding to the fact that they were married for many years. She believes that he wants to reconcile with her.
Evana Roth is now scared of her husband and, according to ABC news has asked a court to protect her from Raymond Roth. She fears he might try to kill her.
The younger Roth was arrested in connection to the case but no further details have been released.
