son arrested in shooting of Las Vegas couple

Bill and Kathy Wilson were shot in front of their Las Vegas home early Wednesday morning.  Few details were released at the time. Police have since made an arrest. The son arrested in shooting his own parents has been  identified as 28-year old Jeffrey Wilson.

Jeffrey Wilson, the son arrested in shooting of his his parents was arrested within hours of the shooting on counts of murder and attempted murder. His mother, Kathy Wilson, died from her injuries and his father, Bill Wilson is still hospitalized.

The father is the one who led police to his son. Although he did not see the shooter, he had argued with his son only hours before the shooting.  The son has said there were problems at his home in recent weeks. According to MyNews3, Wilson’s girlfriend told police he’d been pretty heavily using methamphetamine and became paranoid that his parents were trying to poison him.

Jeffrey Wilson was arrested hours after the shooting.  He was staying at  Arizona Charlie’s Boulder Casino Hotel on Boulder Highway. He was was staying there with his girlfriend, and their two children.  A gun and ammunition were found in his van and those items matched those found at the crime scene.

His girlfriend says that he left the hotel several times. The last time he returned, he claimed that his van was broken and asked to use his girlfriend’s car.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that when detectives told Jeffrey Wilson that his mother was dead and his father was wounded, Wilson responded with several profanity-laden sentences and said, “That is unreal, bro.”

He is denying involvement in the case.

Friends remember Kathy Wilson as a Friends described the couple Kathy Wilson as a “beautiful woman with a big smile and big heart“.

Jeffrey Wilson remains without bail in the Clark County Detention Center.
