5 ways to relieve stress during the Holiday Season

The Holiday Season has arrived. Christmas is less than one week away and the stress is on.  Here are 5 ways to relieve stress during the Holiday Season.

Tip 1 – Take a few moments to get organized.

If you are organized, you are less likely to be stressed. Grab a pen and paper and write down any tasks that you still need to complete.  Use your list each day and check off each item you accomplish.  You’ll turn the feeling of stress into one of accomplishment.

Tip 2 – If you have not finished your last minute shopping, create a separate list.

Write down the name of the person and their age.  As you are partaking in the last minute shopping frenzy, it is easy to lose track of exactly what you need to do and that alone increases your stress levels.  When you are last minute shopping, certain items may be out of stock so if you have your handy list, you can look for suitable items for those on your gift list.

Tip 3 – Limit sugary snacks.

With all the running around, it can be very tempting to grab a quick bite. At this time of year, many homes are filled with sugary snacks. If you indulge, you will feel a quick burst of energy, followed by a huge slump in energy and then you will be stressed-out because you are too tired to accomplish all you need to do.

Tip 4 – Maintain your exercise schedule.

This will help you maintain your energy levels and keep you feeling great and ready to face the world.

Tip 5 – Remember to make time for yourself.

It’s important that you make time for yourself. Don’t neglect doing the things that you enjoy. Although your time may be limited during the holiday season, it may be very worth it to wake up a half hour early, for example, so that you can spend a little time taking care of you.  This will keep you satisfied and prevent you from getting stresses.
