
Shauna Tiaffay was found murdered in her condo at the end of September and suspicion quickly focused on her estranged husband, and ex-firefighter, George Tiaffay.
He was ultimately arrested and on Friday he was indicted.

There was some initial speculation that her murder might have been related to her job, however suspicion quickly focused on her estranged husband, George Tiaffay.
Shauna’s sister, Paula Stokes-Richards, suspected that the former firefighter may have been involved in her sister’s death, although she was cautious in her statements ensuring that she gave her sister’s husband the benefit of the doubt.
George Tiaffay was arrested, along with his accomplice and friend Noel Stevens, a homeless man.
Tiaffay allegedly paid Stevens $600 for the murder of his estranged wife.
Police located items that belonged to Shauna Tiaffay in areas that have been connected with Stevens.

Some of the items were believed to have been taken from a prior robbery at the Tiaffay home.
There seems to be some type of prior association between George Tiaffay and Noel Stevens. They may have been neighbors in the past who became friends.
Shortly before his arrest, George Tiaffay reportedly tried to kill himself by driving his truck at a very high rate of speed into a concrete barrier on the freeway.
His mug shots show a battered face due to his suicide attempt.
George Tiaffay and Noel Stevens were indicted for conspiracy to commit murder and burglary and a number of other charges relating to the death of Shauna Tiaffay.
