Massage parlors is Las Vegas, and many other cities, have a reputation for prostitution and human trafficking, yet the business’ thrive. The City of Henderson seems to be taking a tough stance with a number of massage parlors busted in Henderson, NV earlier this week.
There were 7 massage parlors busted in Henderson and put out of business, according to 8 News Now.
Police checked 39 business’ earlier in the week in response to complaints received about the hours of operation.
In Henderson, the massage parlors must close by 10 pm and are also not permitted to have obstructions or windows coverings blocking the view inside the massage parlors.
Apparently, the massage parlors in Henderson violated the above provisions and will not be permitted to reopen until they meet with a representatives from the business license division.
Although it is certainly a step in the right direction, it is highly doubtful that the business will be out of commission for too long. They will have a meeting with the City manager, apologize, receive a slap on the wrist and be back in business.
The “massage business” is extremely lucrative and the tie-in to prostitution and human trafficking is undeniable.
They used to be called Massage parlors but due to changes in the licensing requirements, the people that own the massage parlors were able to circumvent the more stringent licensing requirements and simply converted them to “foot massage” business’.
In Las Vegas, these business’ are open round-the-clock. If you drive along Spring Mountain Road, better known as “Chinatown”, there is an abundance of “Foot Massage’ parlors that are open 24/7.
With little to no cars in the business parking lot and finding these business sometimes two to a block, you have to wonder how they can survive by just providing $20 foot massages that last an hour?
The massage parlors busted in Henderson represent a very small fraction of the total number of massage parlors, however it is refreshing to see that some type of stance is being taken to curb the proliferation of prostitution and other related illegal activities that have become synonymous with massage, foot massage and the
reflexology “business'”
