The disappearance of Isabel Celis has touched the hearts of parents across many states.  Imagine the horror of waking up and finding your child missing? That’s exactly what happened to the Celis family.  Sympathy has gradually built in to one of suspicion with the Isabel Celis case pointing towards family members that may or may not be involved in her disappearance.

Isabel Celis, 6 allegedly disappeared from her home on April 21st.  She was discovered missing by her father, Sergio Celis.  He contacted 911 and to many sounded strangely detached.  He even cracked jokes with the 911 operator and said his wife, Rebecca Celis, was on her way home because he called her.  Rebecca Celis’ call 911 and sounded more “frantic”, still it is somewhat strange that that she had left for work an hour or so earlier and did not check on her 6 year old daughter.

The parents were reluctant to conduct a news conference and generally shied away from the media.  When they did appear, Sergio Celis, was much more emotional talking in a high pitched voice and repeating the mantra that they would never stop looking for her. His demeanor, in such stark contrast to the 911 call, might be construed as “odd”.  Although people handle grief and emotional upsets differently, there is usually some consistency in behavior.  Until recently Rebecca Celis has remained eerily quiet breaking her silence only to defend her husband.

Nearby business surveillance footage was reviewed and neighbors reported hearing their own dogs and the Celis’ dogs barking loudly yet the Celis family claims to have heard nothing, Then it was revealed that Isabel Celis usually sleeps with her two older brothers Julian and Sergio, ages 10 and 14 but they did not sleep with her on the night before she disappeared. No further explanation was given.

The Celis home residence was searched numerous times and it was also revealed that Child Protective Service (CPS) has had contact with the Celis family prior to Isabel’s disappearance.  Most disturbingly are allegations of  a note, or some type of message, that Isabel wrote on her closet wall. Investigators involved in the case will not confirm the existence of this message or the contents.

With the Isabel Celis case pointing towards family, it is also “strange” that the family will not release the results of their lie detector tests. If they are indeed innocent of any wrongdoing, many believe they would have made the results public.

Sergio Celis has been barred from having any contact with his 2 sons therefore the Celis’ are now living apart. At a recent vigil for Isabel he was seen watching from afar because one his sons was in attendance and due to the current court order barring him from contact, he had to stay at a presumably prescribed distance away.
